Calling all current MAH volunteers who would like to expand their  impact in the community. We are offering a training for our volunteers interested in providing social respite care for family caregivers of people with long-term illness, who are recovering from injury or surgery, or people who are living with dementia.

Social Respite Care volunteers provide temporary care for a member which includes spending quality time with them, focusing on them, and being responsible for their well being providing their family caregivers an opportunity to take a break and have some time to themselves.

Presented by Tracy Sprauer, former Executive Director and Programs Manager of Methow At Home and Dr. Elizabeth Weiss, Lookout Coalition provider.

Volunteer Responsibilities:

  • Complete MAH general volunteer training
  • Complete CPR/First Aid course through Aero Methow covered by MAH
    • Next classes available on Sept. 17 and Sept 29 (only 1 required)
    • Sign up on our Events page
  • Commit to a maximum of two shifts/week, up to 4 hrs per shift

This service does not include activity of daily living (ADLs) such as feeding, dressing, bathing or toileting support.

Feel free to bring a lunch or other food to sustain you through this 4 hour training. Methow At Home will provide snacks and drinks throughout the training.
