Friends of the Winthrop Library and the Trail's End Bookstore are co-sponsoring the book launch of Undesirable: The Vietnam War and a Father's Battle for Justice. Author Laura Kalpakian is internationally known for her award-winning novels and short fiction collections, but her most recent release is a memoir that demands we ask what we—and our government—owe to our veterans for the physical, psychological, and emotional sacrifices they and their families make. It is as relevant today as fifty years ago. The memoir also highlights the importance of preserving our family stories for the next generation
