About this Event

Join Root.ED Nature School for a special morning of gathering marigolds at Refugee Farm!

As we prepare for Día de los Muertos, celebrated on November 1st and 2nd, we invite you to join us for a meaningful morning of harvesting marigolds, learning about their cultural significance, and helping create beautiful flower strings for the upcoming celebration.

Thanks to Sarah Lane and Refugee Farm for generously gifting us these beautiful flowers, we’ll come together to learn about cempasúchil (marigolds), acknowledge the land, and express gratitude for the abundance it provides to our community.

Together, we’ll gather flowers and make strings to adorn the altars, honoring our ancestors and celebrating the traditions of Día de los Muertos. This gathering is also an opportunity to connect across generations, build community, and reflect on the beauty of remembrance as we approach the darker days of the year.

*Please bring your own scissors and a basket, dress warm and bring tea or coffee to sip if you like. We hope you’ll join us for this special morning of connection, tradition, and flowers!
